ACT ON THE ESTABLISHMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

CHAPTER I GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1(Purpose) #

The purpose of this Act is to establish Seoul National University, a national university corporation, and to provide for matters concerning its management in order to enhance the autonomy and social responsibility of the university and to improve its educational and research capabilities.

Article 2(Relationship to other Acts) #

(1) This Act shall take precedence over other Acts with respect to matters concerning Seoul National University, a national university corporation.

(2) Except as otherwise provided in this Act, the establishment, organization, and management of Seoul National University, a national university corporation, shall be governed by the Higher Education Act.

(3) Except as otherwise provided in this Act, the establishment and management of elementary and secondary schools affiliated with Seoul National University, a national university corporation, pursuant to Article 33 shall be governed by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. <Added on Dec. 30, 2013>

Article 3(Legal personality) #

(1) Seoul National University, a national university corporation, shall be a corporation.

(2) Seoul National University, a national university corporation, shall be incorporated upon registration of its establishment at the location of its principal office.

(3) Matters necessary for the registration of establishment of Seoul National University, a national university corporation, and other related registrations shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
