Article 1(Purpose) #
The purpose of this Decree is to prescribe matters necessary for the curriculum, qualification recognition, and specialties for specialty pharmacists pursuant to Article 83-3 of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
Article 2(Specialty) #
The specialties of specialty pharmacists shall be the endocrine, geriatric, pediatric, cardiovascular, infection, intravenous nutrition, organ transplant, tumor, critically ill patients, and other specialties prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare in consideration of the changes in the health and medical environment.
Article 3(Curriculum) #
(1) A pharmacist who intends to become a specialty pharmacist shall complete a curriculum for a specialty provided by an institution for training and education of specialty pharmacists prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for at least one year or at least the number of hours prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
(2) A person who has at least 3 years’ work experience as a pharmacist in an institution offering recognizable work experience prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare may file an application for a curriculum under paragraph (1).
Article 4(Qualification recognition) #
(1) The Minister of Health and Welfare shall recognize the qualification of a specialty pharmacist for a person who has passed a qualifying examination for specialist pharmacists administered by the Minister of Health and Welfare after completing the curriculum under Article 3 (1). In such cases, a person who has completed the curriculum under Article 3 (1) within 5 years immediately preceding the date of taking the qualifying examination for specialty pharmacist may take the examination.
(2) The Minister of Health and Welfare may require an institution determined and publicly notified by the Minister of Health and Welfare to administer the qualifying examination for specialty pharmacists under paragraph (1).
(3) The methods and procedures for applying for a qualifying examination for specialty pharmacists under paragraph (1) and other necessary matters shall be prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Article 5(Issuance of qualification certificates) #
The Minister of Health and Welfare shall issue the qualification certificate of a specialty pharmacist prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare to a person who has passed a qualifying examination for specialty pharmacists under Article 4, depending on the type of specialties, within 2 months from the date of announcement of successful applicants.
Article 6(Indication of specialty) #
A person who has obtained the qualification of a specialty pharmacist may indicate the words "specialty" or "specialty pharmacist" along with the name of the specialty.
