ENFORCEMENT DECREE OF THE ACT ON THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL COMMISSION

CHAPTER I GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1(Purpose) #

The purpose of this Decree is to provide for matters mandated by the Act on the Establishment and Operation of the National Education Commission and matters necessary for the enforcement thereof.

CHAPTER II COMPOSITION, ETC. OF THE NATIONAL EDUCATION COMMI

Article 2(Criteria for members of the National Education Commission) #

The qualifications of students, youth, and parents, which are part of the eligibility requirements under Article 3 (2) 5 of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of the National Education Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "Act") for members (hereinafter referred to as "members" in this Chapter) of the National Education Commission under Article 2 (1) of the Act (hereinafter referred to as the "National Education Commission"), shall be classified as follows:

1. Student: A student who is enrolled in a school under Article 2 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act at the time of commission as a member;

2. Youth: A person who qualifies as a youth under the Framework Act on Youth at the time of commission as a member;

3. Parent: A parent whose child is enrolled in a kindergarten under the Early Childhood Education Act, a school under Article 2 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, or a school under Article 2 of the Higher Education Act at the time of commission as a member.

Article 3(Organizations related to teachers) #

(1) “Teachers-related organizations prescribed by Presidential Decree” in Article 3 (3) 5 of the Act means each of the following organizations:

1. Teachers' organizations organized in the central government under Article 15 (1) of the Framework Act on Education;

2. A teachers’ union established nationwide under Article 4 (1) and (2) of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Teachers’ Unions (referring to an associated organization if such an organization is composed of these unions).
