Article 1(Dispatch of police officers for assistance) #
(1) When the commissioner of a City/Do police agency or the head of a regional office of Korea Coast Guard deems it difficult to control unexpected incidents or patrol areas where public order has been disturbed or is highly likely to be disturbed (hereinafter referred to as "special areas") with police forces under his or her jurisdiction, he or she may request the commissioner of another City/Do police agency, the head of regional office of the Korea Coast Guard or the Governor of a Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, who has established autonomous police organization, to dispatch police officers to receive assistance. <Amended on Nov. 19, 2014; Jul. 26, 2017; Dec. 22, 2020>
(2) In urgent cases, when suppressing unexpected incidents or patrolling special areas, the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency or the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard may order the commissioner of a City/Do police agency, the head of a police agency belonging to the National Police Agency, or head of a regional office of the Korea Coast Guard to dispatch police officers under their jurisdiction in an effort to assist police officers belonging to other City/Do police agencies or regional offices of the Korea Coast Guard. <Amended on Nov. 19, 2014; Jul. 26, 2017; Dec. 22, 2020>

Article 2(Jurisdiction of dispatched police officers) #

Article 3(Performing duties after transfer) #
The commissioner of a City/Do police agency or the head of a regional office of the Korea Coast Guard may order public officers belonging thereto to perform duties in zones of other City/Do police agencies or other regional offices of the Korea Coast Guard, when especially necessary for patrolling, the movement of crews and the transport of goods. <Amended on Nov. 19, 2014; Jul. 26, 2017; Dec. 22, 2020>

Article 4(Organization of police squad) #
The Commissioner General of the National Police Agency may organize a police squad (hereinafter referred to as the "police squad") composed of police officers under his or her jurisdiction and dispatch the police squad to regions which require its assistance, when necessary for suppressing unexpected incidents or guarding special areas.

Article 5(Organization, dispatch and dissolution of police squad) #
The organization of the police squad, purposes of dispatch, deployed areas or its dissolution shall be publicly announced by the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency or the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, whenever he or she organizes, dispatches or dissolves the police squad. <Amended on Nov. 19, 2014; Jul. 26, 2017>

Article 6(Commander of police squad) #
The police squad shall be led by a commander, appointed by the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, or the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, from among superintendent general or senior superintendents; provided, a senior superintendent, who is the director, may concurrently hold the office of a commander, when necessary. <Amended on Nov. 19, 2014; Jul. 26, 2017>

Article 7(Authority of commander) #

Article 8(Duties of dispatched police officers) #
No police officer dispatched under Articles 1 and 3 and the police squad under Article 4 shall perform any duty, other than duties to achieve the purposes of his or her dispatch.

Matters concerning the rewards, punishment, promotion, services and special allowances of riot policemen shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
