Article 1(Purpose) #
The purpose of this Decree is to prescribe matters regarding the establishment and operation of the Policy Advisory Committee under Article 7-2 of the Act on the Establishment and Management of Councils, Commissions and Committees under Administrative Agencies.
Article 2(Name) #
The name of the Policy Advisory Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy Advisory Committee") established under Article 7-2 of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Committees under the Jurisdiction of Administrative Agencies shall be formed by adding the name of the relevant administrative agency before the phrase "Policy Advisory Committee”.
Article 3(Composition and operation) #
(1) The head of an administrative agency (referring to the head of that central administrative agency in cases where there is a separate head of a central administrative agency who oversees the operation, such as performing the role of the executive secretary, among committees under the President and Prime Minister; hereinafter the same shall apply) shall commission members of the Policy Advisory Committee from among experts who have extensive knowledge of and experience in the field requiring consultation.
(2) The head of an administrative agency may commission members of the Policy Advisory Committee from among persons recommended by the heads of other administrative agencies or local governments to seek advice on policies related to other administrative agencies or local governments.
(3) If sector-specific consultation on specialized matters is necessary, the Policy Advisory Committee may establish subcommittees for each relevant field.
(4) Except as provided in paragraphs (1) through (3), matters necessary for the composition and operation of the Policy Advisory Committee shall be determined by the head of the relevant administrative agency.
Article 4(Expenses) #
If the head of an administrative agency requests the Policy Advisory Committee to conduct a study or survey on a specific task, they may pay necessary expenses within the budget.
Article 5(Executive secretary) #
The head of an administrative agency may appoint an executive secretary from among public officials under his or her jurisdiction for the operation of the Policy Advisory Committee.
